Ben Cichanski is an associate attorney practicing exclusively in family law. Ben represents clients in divorce, custody, child support, and other related family law matters. He joined Mack & Santana in 2024.
Ben attended the University of St. Thomas where he double majored in political science and history. Ben went on to earn his J.D. at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. While in law school, Ben was a member of the trial advocacy team, competing in the Texas Young Lawyers Association (T.Y.L.A.) National Trial Competition. Additionally, Ben volunteered throughout law school at People Serving People and Second Harvest Heartland.
Following his admission to the Minnesota Bar in 2016, Ben began his career as an attorney at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid’s (MMLA) St. Cloud office. In St. Cloud, Ben primarily practiced in family law as well as landlord/tenant matters. Ben also worked as part of a unique Medical Legal Partnership program in tandem with CentraCare Health’s pediatrics clinic.
In 2020, Ben returned to Minneapolis and accepted a new position as Robins Kaplan’s Pro Bono Fellow at MMLA’s Minneapolis office. Since 2020, Ben has practiced exclusively in family law matters. In 2022, Ben entered private practice, joining a family law firm in Edina, Minnesota. In private practice, Ben gained valuable experience working on complex cases, often high-net worth dissolutions involving significant property division issues and business interests.
Ben’s experience working with victims of domestic abuse and harassment gives him a distinct perspective that enables him to effectively advocate for his clients both in and outside of the courtroom. He has handled cases throughout Minnesota and provides his clients with knowledgeable, straightforward advice.
Ben is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association; Minnesota State Bar Association Family Law Section, and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Ben is admitted to practice in Minnesota.
